Big Move, New Groove
It’s always a surprising delight when you end up with leadership who genuinely care — the kind that actually want to help you succeed and make things easier when life starts getting hectic.
I’ll be making a big move soon to Japan, which of course comes with a long list of preparations. Appointments, packing, planning — all the usual stuff that’s normally a pain to juggle alongside work. Luckily, the people in charge of me right now have been making my life an absolute breeze through all of it.
I might not always say it out loud to them… but I really do appreciate it.
The only downside is knowing that this new leadership will stay behind, continuing to grow and improve the workplace while I move on. Whenever you leave a place of learning or work, you only get so much time — and so many chances — to keep those connections alive. Eventually, people drift. Life happens. That closeness you once had slowly fades.
On top of that, there’s the anxiety of what comes next. A new workplace, new people, new leadership — not knowing how we’ll click, or if they’ll be as caring and close-knit as what I’m leaving behind. All of that definitely adds to the nervousness.
But hey… I digress.
Nothing a late-night rant, a gaming session, and a beer or five with the bois can’t temporarily fix.
